Mum loved the idea of being eccentric. I think in her later years she felt she had gained the right to be as eccentric as she liked. She’d often mockingly accuse me of thinking her eccentric, when I knew she loved it if I told her she was eccentric.
Mum certainly liked being a sexagenarian, it came with a lot of freedom for Mum as her divorce was finalised, enabling her to set up her own home and start life as an ‘Independent Woman’ adopting her favourite Destiny’s Child track as her theme tune! She even set up her email calling herself IW60: Independent Woman at 60. You’ve got to love it!

My best friend (BF54) is becoming more eccentric by the day and keeps me highly entertained. She’s guaranteed to raise a few eyebrows wherever we go!
